A dad who died in a motorcycle crash has been described as a "true gentleman" with a "wonderful heart".

Officers were called to a crash on 12 August at the junction of the A145 and Cucumber Lane in Beccles, Suffolk, at about 15:30 BST.

It involved a white Ford transit van and a black Yamaha motorcycle being driven by Stephen McKie, 58, of Ditchingham, Norfolk.

Mr McKie died from his injuries, and his friends and family have now paid tribute to him.

His daughter, Nikita, described him as a "loving dad".

"A passion that dad had throughout his life was motorbiking. He loved his motorbikes," she said.

"We take comfort knowing that although he left us too soon it was while doing something he loved."

Mr McKie was also a stepfather to Leon and Evan, who said he was a "true gentleman".

"So many memories made and shared, gone but never forgotten," they said.

"We may not have been related by blood but you were the best stepdad I could have had."

Mr McKie's mother, Dorothy, added that he would be "greatly missed".

Suffolk Police continues to appeal for witnesses and information about the crash.
