No suggestion UK disorder will hit Jersey - police

There is no intelligence to suggest disorder in the UK will develop in Jersey, local police say.
Violent protests have taken place across the country following the fatal stabbing of three girls in Southport.
States of Jersey Police (SoJP) said officers had been monitoring the situation, adding the chief officer was fully briefed in a meeting with UK police chief colleagues on Tuesday.
The force said it was preparing a community impact assessment, monitoring social media and reassuring key members of the community.
Despite deployment of hundreds of officers in the UK in response to recent disorder, SoJP said the island's force had not been asked to provide mutual aid.
"There is no intelligence to suggest similar issues will develop in Jersey," the force said.
"However, SoJP will constantly review the situation and respond accordingly in the unlikely event it becomes necessary."
