Fire service launches consultation over priorities
- Published
Essex fire service is asking residents for feedback on the areas it should prioritise in the coming years.
It has created a draft Community Risk Management Plan, external that outlines "five strategic priorities" for protecting lives, property and the environment.
The service would like to know through a survey, external whether people agree or disagree with the outlined goals by 19 February.
Chief fire officer and chief executive, Rick Hylton, said: "Whether it's making sure our teams are equipped to respond to emergencies or helping prevent fires in the first place, your feedback is vital to creating a plan that truly reflects the needs of our communities."
'Have your say'
The goals were shaped by the results of another consultation last year.
The five are:
Preventing fires and other emergencies: Taking proactive steps to reduce risks.
Reducing the impact of fire in the built environment: Enhancing safety in homes, businesses, and public spaces.
Responding effectively to emergencies: Ensuring rapid and professional emergency responses.
Inclusive and high-performing culture: Fostering equality, diversity, and excellence within the service.
A resilient and sustainable future: Preparing for long-term challenges like climate change.
Roger Hirst, police, fire and crime commissioner for Essex, said: "This is your chance to have your say. We want to prevent more fires and save more lives, as well as delivering an effective response if a fire does happen."
