Man injured after car crashes into bridge wall

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after a car crashed into a bridge wall in north Devon.

The single-vehicle crash happened on the B3227 near High Bullen on Wednesday at 16:40 BST.

The driver, a man in his 20s from South Molton, was removed from the vehicle by firefighters and airlifted to hospital.

Devon and Cornwall Police closed the road for four hours for investigative work, and the force is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
