Court date confirmed for murder trial

A date has been set for the trial of a man charged with the murder of a 40-year-old man in Nottingham.
Jonathan Dittia was pronounced dead in Eddleston Drive, Clifton, at about 20:30 BST on 17 September.
Caine Lonsdale, 34, of Lerwick Close in Nottingham, will go on trial at Nottingham Crown Court on 10 March 2025, and it is likely to last about two weeks.
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to past involvement with the victim and suspect.
A decision on whether the IOPC will investigate the matter has not yet been determined, police said.
Det Ch Insp Ruby Burrow said: "We have kept the family well informed throughout the investigation and they continue to be supported by specially-trained officers."
