Part of the A14 in Suffolk remains closed following a serious collision.

National Highways said the eastbound section of the road between junction 47A for Elmswell and junction 49 at Tot Hill, by Stowmarket, was shut at about 04:30 BST.

The westbound section was also closed between junction 49 and 47 for Woolpit, but has since reopened.

It said Suffolk Police was at the scene and leading the response, and investigations were continuing.

It advised drivers to check their routes and to plan their journeys.
