Man charged with murder over east London stabbing

A man has been charged with murder, after a 26-year-old man was stabbed to death in east London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Tyler Hayward died at the scene after being found with a stab wound on Chingford Mount Road, Waltham Forest on Sunday evening.

Peshman Ahmedi, 22, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of murder at the Port of Dover on Tuesday evening following a large police operation in Kent, and subsequently charged.

The suspect remains in custody and is due before Willesden Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Passengers on a ferry in Dover told the BBC they were held on board for hours on Tuesday.

The ferry had set off for Calais but was returned to Dover within minutes, where police conducted their search.
