Train disruption after car blocks level crossing
- Published
A driver was given "words of advice" after a car blocked a level crossing causing a railway line to be suspended.
The incident at Brockenhurst meant services between Southampton Central and Bournemouth had to be stopped on Thursday morning.
The line reopened just after 08:00 BST, but South Western Railway (SWR) said disruption was expected to last until 15:00.
Tickets are being accepted on CrossCountry routes as well as some Morebus, Bluestar and Salisbury Reds bus services.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said they were called to the level crossing just after 07:00.
"Officers attended and the occupants were located, the vehicle was recovered from the tracks and words of advice were given to the driver," they said.
"There is no further investigation."
Network Rail said the power had to be switched off to allow police to remove the car.
It was restored just before 08:00.
