Arrest over fatal multi-vehicle crash on M40

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a multi-vehicle crash on the M40.

Five cars and a van were involved in the collision on the northbound carriageway between junction 11, for Banbury, and junction 12, for Gaydon, on Saturday night.

The northbound carriageway was shut, along with two lanes southbound, for several hours.

Warwickshire Police have not yet named the woman, aged in her 50s, who died. The force confirmed they made the arrest on Monday.
