A hotel and restaurant within a distinct Birmingham city centre building are up for sale after the operator fell into administration.

The leasehold interest of The Cube Hotel and Marco Pierre White restaurant at The Cube is on the market with a guide price of about £12m.

The 52-bedroom hotel and 180-cover rooftop restaurant remained open and continued to trade, said agents Watling Real Estate and Graham and Sibbald, which have been appointed to market the ventures.

"This is a rare opportunity to acquire a prime city centre hotel and well established restaurant in a landmark building," said Chris Davies from Watling.

The hotel and restaurant are spread across four levels of The Cube, which is 24 storeys high, and contains almost 250 apartments, as well as office space.

MSHA Global Investments Ltd, trading as The Cube Hotel, went into administration in July, according to the marketing agents.

There is "the potential to significantly enhance trading, capitalising on the panoramic views across Birmingham," said Hugh Anderson from Graham and Sibbald.

A buyer was being sought for the "multi-faceted" business and assets as a going concern, the agents added.
