Housing estate plan for site of former school

Plans to develop the former school were submitted in October

Almost 100 homes could be built on the site of a former primary school in Nottinghamshire that has stood empty for more than a decade.
Plans to build a 95-home estate on the site of Manton Primary School in Worksop have been submitted.
The school buildings off Kingston Road have already been demolished after the school closed to pupils in 2008.
The scheme, put forward by Vistry North Midlands and Nottinghamshire County Council, includes a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, along with green spaces and children's play areas.
Developers said the project would deliver "a high-quality, sustainable neighbourhood" while keeping many of the mature trees on the site and planting more than 100 new ones.
Planning documents said the design "reflects the local character of Manton" and would create "an attractive, well-connected place to live".
A planning application was lodged with Bassetlaw District Council in October and a decision on whether to approve the proposals is expected to be made later this year.
