Road closure warning ahead of Derby 10k

Motorists are being warned about closures and restrictions ahead of a 10km running event in Derby city centre.

Thousands of runners are set to descend on the city to take part in the Derby 10K on Sunday.

The event, which has been organised by the Derby County Community Trust, will start and finish at the Rams' Pride Park stadium.

Dozens of roads will be off-limits to vehicles between 08:00 BST and 11:30 on the day of the event.

Among the roads affected, external are London Road, St James Gate, Chequers Road, Stuart Street, Traffic Street and Cathedral Road.

After the main 10K event, families will take part in a 3km fun run in the city.

The route will start and finish at the main start and finish lines, heading on to the river path surrounding Pride Park before returning back to the stadium.
