Ex-nurse accused of stealing morphine from hospital

A former nurse has been arrested and charged with stealing morphine from the hospital she worked at.

The 36-year-old woman is accused of one count of theft by an employee after the substance was allegedly stolen from University Hospital Coventry in 2023.

She has also been accused of fraud by abuse of position and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, West Midlands Police said.

The woman is due to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court on 22 January.
