A road in Leicester is to be closed for 14 weeks so major repairs can be carried out on a bridge.
Leicester City Council said work was needed to refurbish the Gleneagles bridge in Gleneagles Avenue in Rushey Mead.
The concrete structure of the bridge, which crosses Melton Brook, and carriageway require work, the authority said.
The road will be closed for the first phase of work from 22 September to 5 December.
The carriageway will be resurfaced and waterproofed and grass verges will be replaced with concrete.
A second phase of work will then run until 29 December and will see a number of the concrete carriageway slabs removed and replaced with tarmac, the council added.
Diversions will be put in place during the works.
Martin Fletcher, the council's city highways director, said: "The bridge requires major maintenance works to renew parts which are now in poor condition and require improvement.
"Advance warning signs will be erected at both approaches to the bridge before work starts on site.
"Pedestrian access will be maintained as far as is safely possible, however, there will be restrictions around the areas being worked on."
The council said nearby residents and businesses had been told temporary parking and loading restrictions could be put in place along nearby roads and parking bays to keep traffic flowing and enable material deliveries to the site.
