A large pile of waste has been fly-tipped on a rural road in West Yorkshire.

Items including a mattress, tyres and spent gas cannisters have been dumped on land at Ned Lane, near the entrance to Black Carr Woods, between Holme Wood and Pudsey.

The incident was highlighted by Leeds councillor Simon Seary, who represents the Pudsey ward, on Facebook on Wednesday.

He posted images of the pile of waste at the site and said he would report the incident to Bradford Council.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service visited the site on Thursday to find the pile appeared to have grown in size since Seary's post.

The waste was covered by a layer of soil and garden waste, including charred wood.

A shower head is also present on the pile.

Bradford Council, which recently hiked the maximum fine it issues for fly-tipping from £400 to £1,000, has been contacted for comment.

Earlier this month it was announced that four new CCTV cameras had been installed in part of Keighley, in response to concerns about a particular fly-tipping hotspot in the town.
