Detectives have released footage of a man they want to trace in connection with a knife attack in north-west London.

Officers responded to reports of an altercation in Willesden High Road at 11:45 BST on 7 July. When they arrived at the scene, the victim - a man in his 30s - had facial injuries having been slashed with a knife, the Met Police said.

He was treated by London Ambulance Service paramedics and was taken to hospital where his injuries were found to be non-life-changing or life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and it is believed the attack was unprovoked, the force added.

Det Con Gabriela Cociasi, who is leading the investigation, said: "This attack happened in the middle of the morning on a busy high street.

"Its brazen nature will understandably alarm the community, however our officers continue to work tirelessly to identify the suspect. We now need your help."

Detectives described the person they were seeking to identify as a 6ft (183cm) tall black man with a medium build. He had a bald head and a goatee.

When captured on CCTV, he was wearing a white hoodie with black print on the arms, and red tracksuit bottoms.

On 29 August, the man is believed to have revisited the location to ask about what happened during the incident, the Met added.
