Police have found a number of suspect packages on the coast of north Cornwall after reports of drugs being washed up on the shoreline, the Devon and Cornwall force has confirmed.
Officers said they had been searching the coast between Padstow and Holywell Bay after "a number of reports of packages containing suspected drugs washing up on the shoreline".
"Officers attended and recovered several packages which have been sent off for forensic review," said a spokesperson.
"The public can expect to see further activity around the Cornish coastline in the coming days as officers continue to carry out enquiries into the incident," said the force, which also thanked people for their assistance.
