'Perverted' man jailed over child sex abuse images

Muhibur Rahman was jailed during a hearing at Bradford Crown Court

A "perverted and disgusting" sex offender who offered to sell indecent images of children has been jailed for 30 months.
Muhibur Rahman, 23, from Bradford, was arrested in December 2022 after police were told he had uploaded material online.
When officers seized his phone they found almost 100 indecent images as well as messages sent via the Telegram app requesting money in exchange for sending the pictures on to others.
Rahman, who pleaded guilty to three charges relating to downloading indecent images and three charges of distributing images, was jailed at Bradford Crown Court.
Prosecutor Alisha Kaye told the court there were messages dating back to January 2022 showing people had asked Rahman for images and videos and he had asked for payment.
He was found to have distributed 27 still and moving images through the app.
'Reprehensible'
Passing sentence, Recorder Tony Watkin said the material showed some of the most "perverted and disgusting behaviour being inflicted upon those who are the most vulnerable and defenceless in society".
He said: "Significantly, there were messages on the Telegram application which showed, as well as pleasing yourself, that you were making money or least seeking to make money.
"That you were involved as part of a hub or network distributing these images and videos and you requested money when people asked for these to be distributed.
"You were fuelling this activity that was taking place and it was not an image it was a real person."
He said Rahman's acceptance that he had a sexual interest in children was the beginning of his journey.
"You've shown some understanding of how reprehensible what you did was," he told Rahman.
Rahman was also given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and will also have to register as a sex offender with the police for the next 10 years.
