Three men who raped a woman in an abandoned shack near Banbury train station in "a truly shocking and abhorrent attack" have been jailed.

Patryk Kubacz, 31, of Edinburgh Way, Banbury, Damian Sidor, 28, and Jaroslaw Szklarski, 57, both of no fixed address, were found guilty of rape and further offences last year.

Kubacz was jailed for 19 years and Sidor and Szklarski for 11 years at Oxford Crown Court on Friday.

Their victim was attacked over a prolonged period between 22:00 GMT on 12 April 2024 and 12:00 the following day, police said.

When she was threatened with a knife and told to get the men some drugs, she managed to escape and alert a member of the public, who called the police.

"This was a truly shocking, abhorrent and sustained attack on a young woman, who was targeted by three men," Det Con Charis Fernley, of Thames Valley Police, said.

"These three men are dangerous offenders and they have today been sentenced to significant terms of imprisonment.

"Thankfully instances such as this are extremely rare, however Thames Valley Police is absolutely dedicated to investigating all sexual offences. We will always listen to victims and seek to bring offenders to justice."

Kubacz was found guilty of four counts of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threatening a person with a bladed article in a private place and non-fatal strangulation.

He was acquitted of a further two counts of rape, one of assault and one count of threatening a person with a bladed article in a private place.

Sidor was found guilty of one count of rape and acquitted of one count of sexual assault and one count of attempted rape.

Szklarski was found guilty of rape and pleaded guilty to sexual assault.

All will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
