Seven men were found perched on top of pallets of Nutella after banging and shouting was heard from inside a lorry.

Cambridgeshire Police said the men were "sat 10-12ft up" on top of boxes of spread, in a white Scania lorry parked at Brampton Services on Monday evening.

The fire service helped release the men, who were checked by ambulance crews before being transferred to the immigration service.

The lorry driver, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal entry into the UK and has been bailed until next year.

Police said four of the men found in the lorry were Turkish, three were Syrian nationals and the arrested driver was a Turkish national.
