Shock as car crashes into town centre building

The manager of a business centre said it was "scary to think about what could have happened” after a car crashed into the building.
Emergency services were called to the roundabout which connects Civic Drive and St Matthew’s Street in Ipswich at 13:35 BST on Thursday.
Suffolk Police said the blue and silver Smart car had gone through metal barriers before striking The Hub business centre, causing smashed windows and damaged brickwork.
Faith Reader, manager of The Hub, said: "I heard a screech and then the partitions and doorframes shook."
No-one was injured in the crash, but police say a man was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital for further care.
Eyewitnesses told the BBC they heard a "loud bang" before they realised what had happened.
Ms Reader, 23, added: “I have never witnessed anything like this so it is definitely quite shocking and not something you see every day.
"I think the scariest part is, because it is such a busy area, people could have been walking through.
"It’s scary to think about what could have happened but at least the driver is OK, that’s the main thing."
Firefighters from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene to check the structure of the building.
"The building is very secure but our biggest issue is the damage because we don’t want any further issues to occur," added Ms Reader.
"We just want to make sure the building, our tenants and pedestrians in the area are safe."
A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “Police were called to reports of a single vehicle collision on St Matthew’s Street at the junction of Civic Drive.
"A car came off the road, crashed through metal barriers and collided with a building."
