Man charged with murder after fatal street attack

A man has been charged with murder following a street attack, police have said.

Lancashire Constabulary said Gary Carlisle, 62, was found seriously injured on 12 March on Ribbleton Hall Drive, close to Moor Nook School, in Preston.

He died in hospital a week later, and a post-mortem examination revealed he had suffered a blunt-force head injury.

Jacob Hill, 32 and of no fixed address, is due to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court on Friday accused of murder as well as assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to a second man who was allegedly assaulted during the same incident.
