A man who was previously jailed for domestic abuse offences has been sent back to prison for stalking his victim.
Daniel Findlay was jailed for two years and ten months in 2023 but was released in September last year.
Police said he then contacted his victim from an unknown number and left her terrified when she recognised his voice.
The 43-year-old, of Park Farm Way, Peterborough, was jailed for a further eight years at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday.
Findlay bombarded her with calls and texts, with messages suggesting he would go to her home or would be there waiting for her.
Detectives said in one message, he implied he was watching her, and wrote: "Are you serious, you're nipping off somewhere before you go home?"
To avoid Findlay, the victim changed her routine and stopped answering her phone to unknown numbers, and three months later, she reported him to the police.
In his police interview, Findlay denied contacting the victim and claimed she had been sending the messages to herself.
But he pleaded guilty to stalking involving serious alarm, distress and harassment, and breaching a restraining order.
Det Con Jake Boreham-Dennis said: "Findlay showed a blatant disregard for [his restraining order] and went out of his way to make the victim's life a misery.
"We urge anyone experiencing this behaviour to come forward as soon as possible.
"Stalking is a crime we take very seriously."
