Artwork 'promises' to make the world a better place

An art installation filled with promises that people have made aims to make the world and the town it is being hosted in "a better place", an arts organisation has said.
Public Trust, external will arrive at Luton's Hat Gardens on 7 and 8 September.
Lindsey Pugh, the chief executive officer and creative director of Revoluton Arts, said the oaths and pledges aim to be "a snapshot of a moment in time".
"What we would really love is a pledge to Luton itself, as it's a great town with great people, and we're on a really exciting trajectory putting Luton on the map in bold and exciting ways."
"It's a snapshot of a moment in time when people can take time to sit down and consider a promise they would like to make either to themselves, their loved one, friends and family.
"It's a moment for Lutonians to do something different, something creative.
"It's about the spirit of Luton, bottom-up activism, encouraging people to take part in new and exciting ways, for a more positive future for us all."
Each promise can be sworn over a range of meaningful objects from sacred or civic texts to holy objects. They will be put on display on a large board and a smaller rubbing will be made for each participant to take away.
"Our programme is all about Lutonians making decisions," Ms Pugh said.
"The legacy is in their hands, to make Luton and the world a better place."
The event is being held in partnership with Fierce Productions, FESTIVAL.ORG, and Global Streets present Public Trust by Paul Ramírez Jonas.
