Driver charged over teen's death in 2021 crash

A man has been charged with causing the death by careless driving of a teenager in a crash three years ago.
Jack Tomlinson, 21, from Scarborough, is also alleged to have been over the legal drug and alcohol driving limits at the time of the collision in the North York Moors National Park.
Harry Coopland, 18, died in hospital after the Citroen he was travelling in as a passenger struck a tree in Langdale End, near Scarborough, on 13 August 2021.
Mr Tomlinson, of Farside Road, West Ayton, is due to make his first appearance at Scarborough Magistrates' Court on Monday 12 August.
He has been charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the specified limit for cannabis and alcohol.
Five teenagers were travelling in the car at the time of the crash, North Yorkshire Police said.
