Man arrested after cyclist injured in crash

A 60-year-old man has been arrested after a cyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a car in Leicester.

Police said the collision happened in Downing Drive, Evington, at about 20:00 BST on Saturday, and involved a grey Renault Megane.

The cyclist was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remains in a serious condition.

The man arrested in connection with the crash has been released pending further inquiries, Leicestershire Police said.

Officers investigating the collision say they would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it or who has dashcam footage.
