Ten people have been taken to hospital as a precaution after a crash involving a bus and lorry in Leicestershire, police have said.

The bus contained 37 children travelling on a school trip and 16 passengers sustained minor injuries in the crash on the A46, near Syston, a Leicestershire Police spokesperson said.

The collision, which happened at about 09:30 GMT, closed the dual carriageway northbound between A607 near Cossington and the B676.

National Highways said the northbound carriageway had re-opened at 14:00 but normal traffic conditions were expected to resume between 17:45 and 18:00.
