Several city centre roads will be closed on Sunday as Hull remembers its war dead.

Ferensway is among the roads that will be closed from 06:00 until 13:00 GMT.

A parade will leave Queen Victoria Square at 10:25, making its way to the war memorial.

A service will start at 10:55, with a two-minute silence observed at 11:00, the council said.

Lord Mayor and Admiral of the Humber Mark Collinson said: “This is always the best attended of the civic events – and for me, it is the most important.

"Much of what today we take for granted was bought at a bitter cost by the sacrifices of previous generations. We do not forget.”
