Plans for revamped leisure centre to be discussed

Proposals for new leisure facilities in Kent are set to be considered by a council.
Under the plans, Tides Leisure Centre, in Deal, would be revamped with a six-lane swimming pool, a larger gym and a range of fitness studios.
Your Leisure's lease to operate the current facilities from Dover District Council (DDC) comes to an end at the end of March.
The new plans are due to go before the council's cabinet on 13 January.
The authority gave the green light for a new complex costing £19m in July 2024.
Councillors are being asked to give permission for the pool with "inflatable pool fun opportunities" and a toddler splash pad.
DDC said it was actively investigating interim operating arrangements for the sports hall and indoor tennis centre.
Council leader Kevin Mills said: "We've been working hard over the last two years to deliver the new leisure centre despite previous concerns over its affordability, to listen to what people want for the future and to move forward with modern facilities for residents and visitors."
