A large supermarket that closed after part of the exterior fell off has reopened.

The Tesco Extra in Bulwell, Nottingham, closed on Saturday, with the supermarket giant saying parts of the building were cordoned off due to a "maintenance issue".

Images from the scene showed that part of the store's facade had broken away.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Tesco said: "Our Bulwell Extra is now open as usual following a closure earlier this week due to a maintenance issue."

"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure," they added.
