Man charged after police officer injured in crash

A man has been charged after a police officer was taken to hospital following a crash involving an unmarked police car.
Dorset Police said the crash in Sturminster Marshall involving a white BMW and the police car happened on the A31 between Stag Gate and the Roundhouse Roundabout on Monday shortly before 21:30 BST.
The force said the police officer suffered injuries that were not described as life-threatening or life-changing. He has since been discharged from hospital.
Hassan Babaker, 35, of Felling, Tyne and Wear, has been charged with dangerous driving and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court on 16 October.
