Two teenagers have been arrested after police received reports of an attempted robbery in Derby.

Officers were told three men had attempted to rob a teenager on a pathway behind Jubilee Road, in the Shelton Lock area of the city, at about 08:00 BST on Wednesday.

Derbyshire Police said it was reported that one of the men had a knife, but "nobody received any stab wounds and there have been no serious physical injuries as a result of the incident".

A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old were arrested nearby and remain in police custody, the force added.

Inquiries are ongoing to find a third person who police say was dressed all in black and wearing a balaclava.

The force said: "Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who may have been approached by the group, in particular a cyclist who we understand may have been a victim of an attempted robbery."
