A man exposed himself in front of a woman and a young child in a village in west Kent, police said.
The offender was seen with his trousers removed close to St Paul's Church and the A264 Langton Road in Rusthall at around 14:00 BST on Thursday, officers said.
The woman was walking with her child in a wooded area of the Happy Valley.
Kent Police said officers had been carrying out "extensive enquiries" to identify the suspect, who was white, of slim build and possibly in his 40s.
He was wearing a black T-shirt and a light-coloured baseball cap.
Residents along Nevill Park, Nevill Court, The Midway and Tea Garden Lane are being urged to check CCTV and doorbell cameras.
Det Insp Chris Mayers, from Kent Police, said: "This was a deeply distressing incident for the victim and her young child, and we are treating it with the utmost seriousness."
