A police dog has helped arrest three people who were seen trying car doors in Scunthorpe.

PD Gas was unleashed after the gang fled after being spotted in the Yarrow Road area on Tuesday, Humberside Police said.

The two-year-old Czech shepherd tracked them and all three were arrested following a foot pursuit by officers, the force added.

The trio remain in custody.

Gas' handler PC Laura Delaney previously told the BBC about her bond with the dog.

"Gas is like a baby elephant and loves coming to work," she said.

"He's absolutely full of it."
