Jobs event to empower women in career choices

Each session will welcome up to 100 women to help "shatter stereotypes" in different industries

An event is being held to "empower and inspire" women in their career choices ahead of International Women's Day, organisers said.

Coventry Job Shop will be based in the city centre on 5 March and aims to open doors for women in industries they may not have previously considered.

Each session will welcome up to 100 women, offering them the chance to hear from people in fields like construction, manufacturing and the armed services.

Coventry City Councillor Kindy Sandhu encouraged "any women looking for their next career journey" to attend the event.

Employers and training providers for the event include infrastructure company Balfour Beatty and the British Army.

Run by Coventry City Council, the job shop aims to provide "a safe and welcoming environment" to support people into employment, education and training.

Individuals will be able to apply for jobs during the sessions and meet providers to gain the necessary qualifications for the roles, organisers said.
