Man charged with murdering his 75-year-old father

A 30-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his 75-year-old father in south-west London.

Rory Talbot, of Mossbury Road, Wandsworth, was charged on Saturday in relation to the fatal stabbing of Mark Talbot in Putney.

The Metropolitan Police was called to an address in Deodar Road at about 03:30 GMT on Friday.

Rory Talbot is remanded in custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A spokesperson for the Met said their thoughts were with the family and friends of Mark Talbot, adding that they were being supported by specialist officers.

Mark Talbot's family said in a statement: "We are grateful for the support provided by police, our neighbours and others.

"We ask that our privacy is respected while we come to terms with the tragic loss of a highly respected member of the community."
