The mother of a 20-year-old man who died after being stabbed in Nottingham has said "there will forever be a piece of my heart missing".
Nottinghamshire Police said officers found Marley Gascoine critically injured after being called to Abbotsford Drive in St Ann's at about 12:50 GMT on Monday.
Despite being treated by paramedics, he died a short time later, with a post-mortem examination finding he died from a single stab wound to the chest, the force added.
Police said on Wednesday that a 20-year-old man, who had been arrested on suspicion of murder, remained in custody after officers were granted more time to question him.

Officers were called to Abbotsford Drive on Monday afternoon
A statement from Mr Gascoine's mother, on behalf of the family, said: "We would like to thank everyone for their condolences at this excruciating, difficult time.
"Marley is my first born, and will always hold a special place in my heart.
"A fantastic son and big brother, grandson and nephew, we will all miss you tremendously.
"The pain we all feel is indescribable, and as a mum there will forever be a piece of my heart missing."
The force said detectives were continuing to pursue several lines of inquiry and the victim's family were being supported by specially trained officers and asked for privacy.
Det Ch Insp Ruby Burrow, who is leading the investigation, said the force's thoughts remained with Mr Gascoine's family and friends.
"Our extensive investigation is continuing and we are making good progress," she said.
"Once again I'd like to reassure the community that we do believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public."
