Appeal after man stabbed in town centre

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Woking town centre.

Officers were called following reports that an assault had taken place in Lancaster Close at about 23:30 BST on Sunday.

A man in his 20s is believed to have fled the scene in a black BMW, but was later arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and bailed pending further enquiries.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital for medical treatment but has since been discharged.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident, is urged to contact Surrey Police.
