Jersey Post has said postal services to the island have been affected by the cancellations of the ferries because of the weather.

The ferries were cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday morning with no post arriving or leaving the island.

The postal service said it expected mail would arrive on Thursday evening but there would be a large backlog.

It is asking for customers to bear with them while they catch up deliveries but confirmed local mail was unaffected.
