A man has denied murdering a woman who was found dead at an industrial estate in the West Midlands.

The body of 41-year-old Shara Miller was found off Woodburn Road in Smethwick just after 06:10 BST on 11 August.

Tanveer Singh, from Leopard Lane, West Bromwich, was charged with Ms Miller's murder the following day.

Appearing in the dock at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday, the 31-year-old pleaded not guilty.

Judge Michael Chambers KC set the date for trial as 5 May, with a pre-trial review hearing set for January.

He told Mr Singh he would be remanded in custody until the trial and warned him it could go ahead in his absence if he decided not to attend.

West Midlands Police previously said a forensic post-mortem test had revealed that Ms Miller died as a result of strangulation.
