Family devastated after death of man in Aberdeen incident

The family of a 24-year-old man who died after a disturbance in Aberdeen have said they are "devastated".

Dylan Geddes was found badly injured in the Tillydrone area of the city on Thursday. Following a post-mortem police are treating his death as murder.

In a statement his family described him as a "much loved son, grandson, brother and nephew".

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with his death and is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.

Mr Geddes was found in Pennan Road at about 00:35 on Thursday following reports of a disturbance at a property in nearby Coningham Terrace.

He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.

His family said: "Dylan was a much-loved son, grandson, brother and nephew. He will be sorely missed every day by all who knew him.

"The family is absolutely devastated by what has happened and would like privacy at this difficult time."

Det Insp James Callander from the major investigation team said his thoughts were with family and friends of Mr Geddes who was from the Northfield area of the city.

"Specially-trained officers continue to offer support and keep them updated with our investigation," he added.

"I'd like to thank the local community for their support and reassure them that additional officers remain in the area as part of our enquiries. Anyone with concerns can approach these officers."
