A man has died following an assault at a motocross event.

The incident happened at about 21:15 BST on Thursday, at Foxhill motocross in Upper Wanborough, near Swindon.

The man, in his 30s, was later taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he died from his injuries on Sunday, Wiltshire Police said.

Ben Starr, 34, of Woodside Avenue, Ripley, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. He appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Saturday and has been released on bail until his next appearance on 27 September.

The case is now being referred to the Major Crime Investigation Team and enquiries continue.
