Child seriously hurt after being struck by car

A seven-year-old child was seriously injured after being struck by a car on a pedestrian crossing, police have said.
Officers said the child was reportedly struck by a VW Golf on Emscote Road, close to the junction with Broad Street, Warwick, at about 16:10 GMT on Friday.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was helping with inquiries, Warwickshire Police said.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have information to come forward.
