People in Jersey have been asked to avoid areas of St Helier ahead of a music festival.

Weekender is set to take place at People's Park on Saturday and Sunday with Texas and Tom Grennan headlining.

St Aubin's Road will be closed from 12:30 until 00:00 BST on both days.

Organiser Warren Le Sueur said the sense of community was a standout part of the festival.

He said: "There's a lot of people who work behind the scenes, a lot of unsung heroes - without their help and support and genuine volunteering, I just don't think it would be possible.

Mr Le Sueur said there had been a lot of people who wanted to give "great things back" to the island.

He added: "They believe in the direction that we're going in and we're really fortunate to get that togetherness, it's fantastic."
