A GP surgery that was forced to shut over safety concerns has reopened.

The medical centre in High Street, Eye, near Peterborough, was temporarily closed on 12 March due to "a security risk posed to practice staff".

A 41-year-old woman from Eye was arrested on 13 March and charged on two counts for causing a nuisance on NHS premises and possession of cannabis. She is due to appear in court on 11 April.

On Thursday, Jenna Healthcare, which runs the practice, said patients would be contacted over the next few days about their appointments.

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care System (CPICS) said surgery staff were "temporarily relocated to the Thorney practice, managed by the same practice, with all telephone calls being redirected here".

Jenna Healthcare said on its website, external: "We would like to thank everyone for their patience and co-operation during this time.

"We will be making contact with our patients over the next few days to confirm the location of their appointment."
