A new zebra crossing is to be installed on a busy road through a residential area of Leicester.
Leicester City Council said the crossing in Ethel Road, Evington, would improve safety for pedestrians walking to nearby schools, shops and bus stops.
Work on the crossing is scheduled to begin on Monday 3 November when the road will be closed in one direction between its junctions with Wakerley Road and Headland Road.
The £58,000 project is expected to take two weeks to complete, the council said.
Assistant city mayor for environment and transport Geoff Whittle said: "This is part of an ongoing programme of work in neighbourhoods across the city, where people have raised concerns, input ideas or highlighted possible areas for improvement."
