A jury has been shown doorbell camera footage of a stabbing attack which led to one man dying and two others being injured.
Kane Katowica, is on trial for murder and attempted murder after Matthew Cainey, 53 and from Gloucester, died after being stabbed at a property in the city on 28 May.
Mr Katowica, 39, has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of maliciously wounding and one count of manslaughter after three men were stabbed at the property on Bedford Street.
A murder investigation was launched after Mr Cainey died from his injuries later that day.
The other men who suffered injuries in the incident were Jamie Bullock, 41, and Luke Lambert, 38.
Mr Kotwicka previously pleaded guilty to bringing a knife to the property.
Prosecution Mark Cotter KC told Bristol Crown Court on the first day of the trial that Mr Kotwica was in a flat with Mr Cainey, Mr Bullock, Mr Lambert and two women - Diane Cullis and Hannah Roberts - before the attack.
An altercation took place between Mr Bullock and Mr Kotwicka, before the latter grabbed a knife from the kitchen, the court was told.
This knife was then taken from Mr Kotwicka before he left the premises, where the group had been drinking and taking drugs.
The jury was told he then returned, armed with a knife of his own.

The incident happened at a property on Bedford Street in Gloucester
The court was then shown footage captured on a ring doorbell fitted to neighbour's property of Mr Kotwicka being prevented from re-entering the property before taking out his knife.
In the video he thrust the knife forward with a single stabbing motion and was pushed back by an unseen person.
Mr Kotwicka then made his way down a corridor followed by two men ,who were seen to confront him in the hallway, and are then stabbed.
'Intent to kill'
The prosecution claimed Mr Kotwica wanted to re-join the drug taking in the flat or confront the people who had made him leave.
Mr Cotter said Mr Kotwica deliberately stabbed Mr Cainey for not letting him back into the flat, describing the defendant as "an aggressor" who had the intention to "commit harm and to murder".
"He was not under attack, he was not defending himself," Mr Cotter added.
Mr Cotter went on to say Mr Kotwica stabbed the other two men "as the aggressor, intending to kill them or to cause them serious bodily harm".
The trial continues.
