Police have re-appealed for information about the murder of a man from Bradford, one year on from his death.

Luqman Ishfaq, 23, died after being beaten and stabbed on Barlow Street on 21 October last year, according to West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.

To date, 19 men aged between 21 and 29 - all from the Bradford area - had been arrested and bailed in connection with his death, 16 of those on suspicion of murder and three for violent disorder and affray, they said.

Det Ch Insp Stacey Atkinson said "significant lines of inquiry" were ongoing in the investigation, and police were "continuing to appeal to the local community who witnessed the incident and have information that could help".

"Allegiances might have changed and however small that information is, may be key in getting justice for Luqman and his family," she added.

In April, Crimestoppers offered a £20,000 reward for information leading to the identification and conviction of those responsible for Mr Ishfaq's murder.

The charity has previously said that Mr Ishfaq was sitting in a parked car with friends outside a fish and chip shop on Barkerend Road when the black VW Golf they were in was "violently rammed" by a gang in 4x4s.

Mr Ishfaq was then chased to a nearby street and killed by the gang, with the group of 15-20 attackers then believed to have fled the scene before causing further damage at an address on Upper Rushton Road.

Their cars were later found abandoned in the Attock Park area of the city, according to Crimestoppers.

Mr Luqman's family continued to be supported by specialist officers, Det Ch Insp Atkinson said.
