Almost 10,000 people took part in the Baxter's Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running at the weekend.

The marathon started 26.2 miles (42km) from Inverness and took entrants along the south eastern shore of Loch Ness to the city.

Other events held included 5K and 10K runs along the River Ness.

The marathon and festival raise money for charity.
