A self-driving shuttle is going to be offering demonstration rides in what organisers are saying is a first for Kent.

The Lift Shuttle, manufactured by Ohmio, will be doing demonstrations between 12:00 and 13:30 GMT at the Turner Contemporary art gallery in Margate on Friday.

The vehicle, which is planned to be used on the roads of Milton Keynes as part of a government-backed project, has no driver's seat or steering wheel.

An Ohmio spokesperson said, if successful, the the Milton Keynes pilot could be used as a blueprint for nationwide deployment.

The vehicle will return to the art gallery when it once again hosts the Self-Driving Industry Awards.
